Arts and Crafts at Kempenfest is exclusively produced and directed by a joint venture of the Barrie Art Club and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie, known as the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts. All applications received are reviewed by the committee, and selected applicants will be notified by email.

Arts and Crafts at Kempenfest is exclusively produced and directed by a joint venture of the Barrie Art Club and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie, known as the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts.

All vendor applications will be reviewed by our event team, ensuring fairness and consistency. Priority will be given to returning vendors subject to booth and category availability.

All new applications will be evaluated based on originality, quality, and fit with Kempenfest’s audience. Top-scoring vendors will be selected, with consideration given to maintaining a diverse range of arts and crafts categories. Handmade, original items are given priority, with a limited number of Market Square spaces reserved for Canadian owned businesses that design design their own products or do not fall into the handmade criteria. Applicants will be notified of their status, and a reserve list will be maintained for last-minute openings.

While we can't accommodate all applicants due to space limitations, we appreciate your interest in being part of this incredible festival.

Before you begin...

You may need to have a few things ready to upload/attach with your application. Please make sure you have the following on your computer, ready to upload:

If this will be your first time exhibiting at HFAC: Two (2) photographs of your studio, preferably with you working with your materials and seven (7) photographs of the work you intend to sell.
If you intend to sell food items: a recent manufacturing facility inspection report
For all exhibitors (must be received by July 18th): Proof of liability insurance that names "Kempenfest (Barrie) Inc." and "The Corporation of the City of Barrie" as named-insured.
For Taste of Kempenfest (Food) Vendors (must be received no later than July 6th): Completed Vendor Application for Event Permit from the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit. If you are attending more than one event in the area, you can submit all of them at once. Contact us for more information

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel after you have been accepted, there is a $75 cancellation fee and a refund will be issued within 14 days. No refunds will be issued after July 1, 2025

Terms and Conditions

Setup: Setup starts the FRIDAY of the Festival weekend and SATURDAY morning until the show opens.
PLEASE NOTE: HFAC Volunteers will be on site Friday from 8:00am-7:00pm and Saturday from 8am-10am to address concerns.
Exhibit opening and hours: Exhibits must be open for business on SATURDAY by 10:00am and remain open during all show hours. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
Vehicles: MUST BE removed from the grounds by 9:00 a.m. each day. If you are planning on using a vehicle for restocking purposes, you must notify us prior to the event to be approved, otherwise we will ask that your vehicle be moved. Vehicles can re-enter the park after 6:00 pm.
Teardown
: Cannot begin until after 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Anyone who begins to tear down before this time is at risk of not being allowed to attend in future years.
Display area
: We DO NOT supply tents, but we can provide information on how to rent one. Some display areas are beneath trees. For protection from the elements you should have a tent or canopy and plastic sheeting. Hydro is not available. If you need hydro, we ask that you bring a silent generator.
Fire Extinguishers
: Tents larger than 20’ x 20’ require fire extinguishers.
Accommodations: We will consider and attempt to accommodate any special requests (for health reasons etc.) if indicated on the application form under "Special Requests" or directly to the HFAC office. However, once the Festival opens, SPACE ALLOTMENT IS FINAL. If you relocate without permission, your right to be on the grounds is revoked.
Smoking: There is a strict NO SMOKING policy anywhere within the city parks
Pets: No pets are allowed on site.
Camping: We DO NOT allow camping or camping trailers on site. Please ask the HFAC office for a list of local campsites.
Security: Security is on duty from Friday to Monday. However we cannot guarantee absolute security and any losses are the sole responsibility of the vendor. Please ensure the security of your products and/or remove them after 6:00pm.
Certificate of Insurance: Proof of liability insurance must be submitted to HFAC by email or mail no later than July 18, 2025. The policy must name "Kempenfest (Barrie) Inc." and "The Corporation of the City of Barrie" as co-insured.
Adverse Weather: This is a rain or shine event. In the event of adverse weather conditions, including rain or wind, it is your responsibility that you secure your belongings, especially tents, adequately. Ensure proper anchoring and protection to safeguard your setup from potential damage. In the event that there is a risk of severe weather conditions, show organizers will monitor the situation and react accordingly

Waiver and Acknowledgement

By submitting this form, I (we) agree to comply with all conditions and regulations of exhibiting as laid down by the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts and Kempenfest. I further agree and understand that Non-compliance with these regulations and policies will result in removal from the show without a refund and exclusion from future shows.

I (we) further agree to provide for my own liability insurance and hereby agree to hold the Barrie Art Club and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie, acting as the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts, the Kempenfest Committee, their officers, directors, employees and volunteers, and the Corporation of the City of Barrie, harmless from any damage, expense or liability from any injury or damage done to any person, including the general public, the exhibitor, its agents or employees or to the property of the exhibitor arising out of the exhibitor’s participation at Kempenfest.

The Barrie Art Club and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie, acting as the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts, will not be responsible for any loss or losses incurred by the exhibitor, as a result of fire, theft, accidents, weather, acts of God or other mishap or incidents not specifically enumerated herein.

Recognizing that Kempenfest, the Huronia Festival of Arts and Crafts, the Barrie Art Club and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie are voluntary organizations the exhibitor assumes all risks and responsibilities in participating in this event.
